Orscheln Products was founded on park brake cables and levers many years ago and continues to produce park brake cables and levers in-house today.

Orscheln Products was founded by the Orscheln brothers back in 1946. Brothers Ed and William Orscheln owned a trucking company and it was the job of their brother Al to fix and repair their vehicles. Noticing the parking brake on one of their trucks could be designed better, Al took it upon himself to design a better, “overcenter” parking brake lever, which was patented and is now standard on many vehicles today. The Orscheln brothers always believed in keeping the company in the family, and now, more than 60 years later, Orscheln Products continues to be managed by the Orscheln family. What’s more, Orscheln Products has always found it very important to keep all manufacturing under its own roof to ensure that quality control is high.
