Orscheln Products offers an Allison 1000/2000/4000 Shift Inhibitor System to help prevent drive train damage.

Orscheln Products offers an Allison 1000/2000/4000 Shift Inhibitor System to help prevent drive train damage. High RPM shifting can cause costly drive train damage, but when you’re using Orscheln Products’ Shift Inhibitor, you can have save money and prevent loss by combating improper shifting. Automatic transmissions found in refuse packers or other similar heavy-duty vehicles can suffer major damage from improper shifting. This is especially common in vehicles involved in frequent stop-and-go PTO operations where engine speeds above idle are required. In these types of vehicles, if the driver does not wait until engine RPM’s return to idle before shifting, it is possible that high inertial loads can be forced upon the transmission and drivetrain. These loads can lead to potentially extensive and expensive damage. Orscheln Products is aware of this common problem and offers the Shift Inhibitor System to combat expensive damage to the transmission. The Shift Inhibitor System works by delaying the shifting process until the engine has returned to idle speed. Orscheln Products’ Shift Inhibitor System is a pneumatic-mechanical system which complies with the Allison® Transmission Watch Notice #65.
