Have you heard of Orscheln Products’ electronic smart actuators or electronic shift actuators? These are two products, produced at the Orscheln Products’ manufacturing facility in Moberly, Missouri, that have been steadily growing in popularity and use since their introduction.
The electronic shift actuator system is designed for transmissions with a mechanical interface, e.g. Allison™ 1000/2000 Series, to provide a shift-by-wire system that operates over CAN J1939. The electronic shift actuator systems can be programmed to communicate with the TCM to provide diagnostic feedback, and also allow bump shifting in applications where needed.
The electronic smart actuators are unique in that they have a “High Output” actuator motor design which provides a mechanical output force up to 150 pounds of force and a positioning accuracy of 0.050 inch. The electronic smart actuator has a 3″ linear shaft output which can be set up for either direct mount or remote connection via a control cable.
